You realise we are banning purely on peoples words here, right? Anyone else have the feeling we're getting played?

i consider that, but in my opinion while we discover if is true or false, i think blocking their account is the best thing we can to do, and deal with it based on that and their logs, and well having some talkings with the people.

i don't see nything extreme in that becase they can be unbanned at some point.

the problem i see is that most of the reports are very paranoic.

Check out my response in the other trade. It should be the standard way to solve those cases.

And how it ended for classyj and iter.

imo, the ban is too a tool to control the conduct of the person in trouble, to check the attitude and it gives us time to deal with the problem in the right way, due to the stress they feels because of the supension or frustation in case they are innocents, they may say everything they know about its problem, we can take advantage of this to discover who lies.

it works most of the time, in example, ClassyJ, but at the same time this method is a bit heavy because it puts you in a dilema and the resolution cant be fluent properly, apply the ban, but in cases like this, do not do it much and make questions instead before apply the ban.

reports based in quotes is shit most of the time because the lies, you can not take them as a total truth, but you can not discard them either ,take it as a base to follow and let to the ppl to give you more proof or ask them for it, watch out for their actions too. (just like was done with ClassyJ and Iter)

if there are doubts come to post here and all the available GMs will help to study said case.

alts accounts works too ;o

blah, the trade section is just an extra problem to deal, i think that activity is stupid >;

With how easy it is to fake logs and pictures, we need to be careful about how we aproach these cases.

The copy and paste logs just aren't very reliable. We should only do a ban if we are pretty confident there is justification for it. Sometimes we ban just on suspicion without any real evidence. Then again, a lot of the time those suspicions turn out to be justified.

Man there's no easy solution to this.

banning for suspicious things is not anything wrong at all, that's why the accounts checks section was created, if they own supicious things, a check does not hurt to disolve that doubt, does not matter if the proof or evidence is not 100% solid, with those revisions we can take our own conclusions and even search for more evidence to make it 100% solid, i think is our job to search the other part of the evidence and do not wait for the pppl to give us it all always.

the bad thing for the players here is that the account need to be necessarily banned in order to check the accounts, this is to avoid a corruption in the account if they try to log in while i am checking it.

in general a ban does not hurt, does not matter the case, if the person is found innocent, he can be unbanned, it is simple, but at the same time could be heavy because the folks always thinks that all the bans are permanent and the world ends and wants a quick resolution for the problem which is something wrong to think and the quick resolutions are not always possible.

may be, the way i say this is wrong, but somehow, we need to put an example and show to the users that we really take care of the problems and that this is a place with discipilne, with a staff that worries about it and works, from my view point, a ban means that too.

i just say that using it much causes us a bit of more stress because the ppl piss off alot, this person say that, other say this, he lies, the other too, who says the truth?.

again, in the case for ClassyJ, you GMs (the ones involved in that case) just showed to the people that the staff take actions as well as investigations and are done to resolve a problem, if an innocent was banned, then he is unbanned once the truth is relevealed and the real offender is banned later.

i think that each one of us has their own strategy and way to deal with the problems without go out of the rules, the difference between each one of the GM's is that some of them are more strict than others, is not bad, because individually, everyone here works and deal with the problems also according to its personality, with all of this, at the end, we need the help of our partners.
